Monday- Spence had an over night trip to Boston for work. Race & Carissa and Grayson were in town for Eddison's graduation. We got to hang and I gave Race a haircut. My stomach started being weird. That night I had a pain filled belly and couldn't sleep.
Tuesday - in the morning I couldn't stand up straight. I had sharp pains and major swelling in my abdomen. I was worried I was having an issue from the hysterectomy. I called the Gynecologist office and they said to go get an ultrasound. ShaeLyn drove me to the urgent care. But the doctor there looked at my history and ordered a CT scan instead. What they found was the most shocking thing in the world to me and ShaeLyn could barely hold back her laughter and had to hide her smile! My bowels were backed up because my bowel muscles were paralyzed from the surgery and pain medicine I'd had to take (which I opted to stop after day 4 post surgery, bc it was causing constipation). The dr said, "You're literally full of crap." ShaeLyn lost it then and erupted in laughter! I just sat there stunned and humiliated with my mouth dropped. I told her I've been going everyday though. The dr said, "Apparently not enough." UGH!! So I had to drink magnesium citrate, a disgusting colonoscopy prep. It made me want to vomit. So I added it to orange juice. I drank 3 of those over the next two days. I really needed to clear out before Kaden's graduation! I was not going to miss that! Dad came home in the evening and I was so relieved. He comforted me over my embarrassing bowel issue. :(
Wednesday- dad woke up sick and had to stay in bed. I heard a crash downstairs, and rushed down to see that McKinley had kicked her feet against the table while strapped into the booster seat. She knocked the whole chair backwards and she hit her head. Her mom & dad were right there and leapt to help her. She was screaming so much and had a big red line in the back of her head. I worried she might have a concussion. ShaeLyn took her to the back porch to calm her, but she kept crying. I sat there with them praying in my head. I watched McKinley move her head like it was too heavy to hold up and I knew it meant she was dizzy. And then, she vomited. I spoke quickly, "Ok time to go the ER, she might have a concussion." Cayman was already up and said, "Yep, let's go!" It was a terrifying ordeal, especially for those 3. They took one of our cars and had McKinley checked at the ER.
Kaden went to the airport to pick up his grandparents who flew in for his graduation.
McKinley came home and we kept the lights off and instituted a quiet-time, "no loud noises" policy.
Thursday- Kaden's graduation was held at the new Fishers event center. They were the first graduating class to use that venue. It was pretty cool! But we were only allowed 6 tickets. So Josie & Charlie stayed home and Dad, Perry, Papa & Grandma, and I went. Kaden didn’t want to be there; as soon as we found our seats, I got a text from him saying he wants to go home and doesn't want to do this. I had to convince him not to leave. I told him he worked hard for this. His family traveled for to support him in this moment. He's already here, just ride it out, etc.... then his phone died. I just prayed he'd stay. And he did. Because their class is so huge, the ceremony was long and we weren't allowed to cheer or applaud until the end. Of course people did anyway. When Kaden's name was announced, Perry yelled, "That's my brudder!" :) It was cute!
When we were waiting for graduation to start, Cayman called me and asked to use the jeep to take McKinley back to the er, because she threw up again. So they spent more hours back there. I was worried the whole time. And worried about Kaden the whole time. There was a lot of stress balling up in our world that day.
Friday- Josie's birthday. I focused all day on my special Angel Face. I kept my hurting heart off my face: I learned that Lynch neighbors daughter passed away, my heart broke for them. Then my friend in the ward went to the ICU to have her lungs drained. She was so sick and miserable and I was worried about her. Later, Papa went for a walk to the dock, and slipped on the mossy pavers and fell. I didn't know he'd even gone outside or I would have warned him the path is steep and slippery sometimes. Our neighbor Tim helped him up. When Papa told me he was so embarrassed. Here we were all week worried about Grandma Lee falling, then Papa is the one who did. My heart worried again. About him getting old, being able to physically take care of his wife and all.
I feel like I am just holding my breath for what's next.
