Josie took Leslie to see the big bridge. As they walked, a runner passed them. Josie commented that’s she doesn’t like to run. Leslie said, “Me neither, unless it’s away from a bad guy or toward a taco truck!”
Josie replied “ I’ve never been to a taco truck.”
Leslie: “You’re Nancy Jones’ daughter and you’ve never been to a taco truck??”
Josie: “Yeah, we don’t eat out much. Mom always says ‘we have food at home’… Unless mom is hungry, then we get Taco Bell!”
Ha ha
When Leslie told me this exchange, Perry jumped in and agreed “It’s true, they never take us out to eat! They always go on dates and we never get to!”
FALSE! For the record: we don’t have any taco food trucks in our area. AND we take you guys out to eat a lot! Take a minute to think of all the restaurants you’ve been to: sit down and take out. Go on, name them. I’ll wait…
When you were little we couldn’t afford it much. And that’s when I’d say “sorry we have food at home.” But now that you’ve actually thought about it, you know we’ve taken you many places to eat out. So you hush about making us look like neglectful monsters. Or Taco Bell will be a dim memory for you.
