What a special day!!!The day we have been waiting for has arrived! Much earlier than we hoped, thanks to the changes for youth turning 11 being able to join the Youth Program and attend the temple. With all the changes announced in the church, being able to attend the temple was what Kaden was the most excited about. He insisted on bringing our own family names to the temple. He even wanted his own Familysearch account. :) I admit, i was skeptical that we'd be able to find names for baptisms. In the last several years I've been using family search, I've seldom found a name to do and usually its for further ordinances after baptism. So I suggested we say a prayer for help to find one name for him to take to the temple. We knelt next to the computer and Kaden said the prayer. We then signed him into the family search site and began looking through our family tree. I had the idea to check my familysearch emails. Sometimes i get a name that's ready for endowment ordinances. But when I clicked on it, it had a male name ready for baptism! I was so grateful and Kaden was so excited! So we printed it off. He wanted to find more. Ok, so I refreshed the page and ANOTHER male baptism. Then another and another... he ended up printing 13 names! 11 males and 2 females! It was a huge blessing. Kaden was jumping up and down then dropped to his knees and said, "We need to say a Thank You prayer."
Just the 3 of us went and it was incredible. The Spirit was strong and I could feel the love of our family on the other side. I could especially feel my mom. I'm glad she was there to share this moment with us.
Kaden was one of the very first youth in the Indianapolis temple to be able to enter his own family file names by entering them in the computer and stamping them. He thought that was pretty cool. :)
Being able to attend the temple and do this sacred work with our Kaden, was one of the highlights of my life. I am so proud of him and so happy! Kaden I pray you will always find joy by serving in the temple and doing family history. We love you so much!
Later on today, we went as a family to our ward building to play basketball and play soccer. We've done it a couple times now and we really enjoy being in a warm safe place where we can get some family exercise in.
