It was awesome to have ShaeLyn visit after returning from her mission in Boston. She was a good hard working missionary and we're all proud of her. I knew she’d appreciate some recovery time after 18months of giving her all in service. I
t’s nice to have some peaceful moments to just “be” after a hard working mission. It was good to see how she’d changed. She has matured in ways that only a mission can help you accomplish in such a short amount of time. We made aebleskivers (a McCune breakfast tradition) so she could eat them for the first time. She came with Charlie and I to his preschool field trip tour of Kroger (we got to wear some sweet hair nets!). We worked on a special quilt together for her dad. The kids enjoyed having one on one time with her and just relaxing together. Spenc and I enjoyed giving her “unsolicited” advice for adult life 😁. She’ll be off to college at BYU-I in January, so it was good to have her before her post-mission life gets busy.
(Side note: Spence thinks ShaeLyn looks like my mom’s sister Janna. But, I think Shae looks like her mom, Donne.)
We're happy she’s back and that she served so faithfully. ❤️
