So, Epcot was "meh". It was slower paced and not as much to do. The rides they had were well done and the kids and daddy enjoyed them. Our very first ride was Mission Earth: you're stuck in a space craft "cockpit" and given a title & role (ie: navigator, captain, etc). Each seat has a tiny window screen that looks like you're blasting off, cruising outside the atmosphere around Earth, then nearly crash landing. It shakes the cockpit and made me almost vomit! They had airsick bags available and I helped myself to 3 of them. That first ride ruined me for the rest of the day. Daddy took the big boys on Mission Mars, which was similar to mission Earth, only more intense. Glad I opted out of that one. They then went on Spaceship Earth. I stood in line with them but left the line once they all got on. We'd been told Soarin Around the World was THE best ride at Epcot, so I worked up the stomach for it and got in line with my family. I still was nauseated and didn't think i should get on it. But I didn't want to miss out. They sit you in a row of connected seats and lift you off the ground in front of a massive screen! It simulates hang-gliding across the world. The sights coordinate with the smells they blow at you and the movement coordinates with the movement at which the movie is "flying". I couldn't watch it. The virtual stuff was just making me sick. I took Spencer's hat and put it over my face. But when the smells changed or the temperature of the air changed, I had to take a peek. I smelled cut grass when we flew over the African savannah. I smelled Jasmine when we flew over the Taj Mahal. I smelled salty air over the ocean, etc etc. Spence said he didn't notice the smells. I guess i did cuz my eyes and ears were covered. :) My weak stomach is embarrassing & inconvenient, I know and I'm sorry kids. But I was still a trooper, right guys? I didn't complain. I only hung out with the stroller a couple times. Daddy took the kids to Livin with the Land after Soarin so i could take a breather outside. We all went on Figment. Which was the lamest ride ever. (psst. hey Disney World... please update that one to something more current! Like a Moana ride or something!) Moving on...
We did a great job staying under budget with food because we brought our own food & snacks. But Epcot has a food festival of food kiosks with appetizers from around the world. Daddy decided to let us all pick one place we wanted to try and we each had a bite. Ended up getting nice & full and my stomach finally felt better. We ate food from Australia, France, Brazil, Belgium, Japan, and China. Cool thing is... the employees at each kiosk are all native to that country. :) With our bellies happy, we decided to head back to the condo and have some dessert.
