Lately we've had many encounters with our critter neighbors. Besides the usual squirrels, Cardinals, and Blue Jays, we've met some new little friends.
Dane Baker was at our house being paid to pull out English Ivy. While here, he showed us this fearless chipmunk. Dane showed us that he could pet it so of course, all my kids wanted to pet it too! I told them not to go near its mouth... (didn't want to take anyone for a rabies shot). Perry named him "Chip".
We've also had lots of visits from Mr. & Mrs. Mallard Duck. I like their stops because they've been eating all the cicadas!
After our preschool graduation party, we discovered what looked like a large rock in the middle of the front yard. Turn out to me a big turtle! Perry named him "Snappy". I picked it up for our friends to get a good look and he peed... a lot! I put him down and had the kids & I go wash hands. Then Snappy crawled away rather quickly and took a nap under the neighbors bush.
